Community Arts Council

The Community Arts Council has approved the dates for its 2010 festivals. 

The Strawberry Jazz Festival will be held on June 6, 2010 at the Governor Small Park. Again this year all buildings on the grounds will be used including the Civic Auditorium, Kankakee County Museum, Gov. Small House, and the School House.  There will be activities on the grounds and, weather permitting, music in the Column Garden. 

Due to the cold weather last year, the committee decided to move the Fall Art Stroll to September 19 in hopes of having more predictible and warmer weather.  It will still be held in downtown Kankakee. This year, the Event Partnership of Kankakee has asked to partner with the Community Arts Council to expand the size and scope of this growing event.  Watch for more information.

It is time to apply for booth space.  Entertainment for both festivals is also being lined up.  Call 815-933-ARTS for more information.
