Getting Your Organization On-Line

Create A Web Page

If your group already has a web page somewhere, send an e-mail message to the CAC Webmaster.   We will include a link to your site. If you do not have a site, you can use the Community Arts Council site to launch your first page.

You will be given a unique directory on our site.  It will look like one of these:

http://kvmta.communityartscouncil.org/ (sub-domain)
http://www.communityartscouncil.org/kvmta/ (sub-directory)

Most groups already have brochures or other documents saved on their computer.  Take your existing WordPerfect or Word documents and create new web documents to post on-line.

If you provide the content (the text, the information, and the "stuff"), the Community Arts Council will design the rest of your web pages as a member benefit!  You will be able to advertise your web site.

What should you include on your web site?

  • Provide details about events
  • Tell people how to join the organization
  • Contact information (phone, mail, etc.)
  • List of officers, past officers, honorary board members
  • calendar of events, meeting schedule
  • Dues, rules, by-laws
  • History of the organization
  • Mission statement
  • Photos of events, people, artwork
  • Sound clips from performances (see digital audio tutorial)
  • Quick-polls and surveys
  • Links to related groups (other chapters, organizations)

Are You On-Line?

Many arts patrons now use the Internet as their primary source for information about the arts.  Are you taking advantage of this technology?
