Northfield Square Mall is excited to invite you to be a part of our 7th Annual Christmas Tree Wonderland! This beloved event transforms our mall into a festive forest of beautifully decorated trees, bringing holiday cheer each year.
We would love for you to showcase your organization by sponsoring and decorating a tree. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain visibility in our community, spread your holiday message, and get into the festive spirit with us.

The Kankakee Valley Theatre Association is delighted to announce its upcoming Young Peoples Theatre production of Disney’s My Son Pinocchio Jr., a magical retelling of the beloved classic—told through the eyes of toymaker Geppetto.
In this touching and humorous musical, audiences will follow Geppetto (Finley Schmidt-Monee) as he navigates the ups and downs of parenthood after the Blue Fairy (Ella Nitschke-Kankakee) brings his wooden puppet to life. Featuring timeless favorites like “When You Wish Upon a Star” and “I’ve Got No Strings,” this family-friendly production also includes a host of new songs by Grammy and Oscar Award-winning composer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell).
Geppetto’s journey leads him beyond his quiet toyshop and into a world of lively characters—including the cunning Stromboli (Aidan Troendle-St. Anne) and a raucous troupe of Roustabouts—as he searches for his runaway son, Pinocchio (Ashton Lamont-Bourbonnais). Along the way, he learns that being a father means embracing imperfection and loving unconditionally.
With a cast full of whimsical roles—from Fairies and Roustabouts to the iconic Pinocchio and Geppetto—My Son Pinocchio Jr. promises an enchanting experience for theatergoers of all ages.

The Daily Journal and The Kankakee County Museum are coming together to host our first ever Gingerbread House Decorating Contest!

Stop by the museum at 801 S. 8th Ave., Kankakee to pick up/drop off your FREE cardboard Gingerbread House November 19th - 25th anytime from 9am-5pm.

Whether you decide to decorate it onsite at the museum's decorating station or you take it home to complete as a fun family activity, this is a great way to get the children involved this holiday season.

The top 10 houses will be displayed alongside the Museum's annual Gallery of Trees event where the public can vote for their favorites.

Limestone Township Library District is celebrating the season with our annual Fall Fest on Saturday, October 25. From 12:00 noon till 2:00 P.M., visitors can roam the grounds to play a variety of carnival games, visit the Trunk-or-Treat field, bob for apples, and search the library during a scavenger hunt.
Halloween costumes are definitely appropriate for this event!
Fall Fest goers will also have the opportunity to vote on pumpkins that have been submitted in our Pumpkin Decoration Contest.
