Join us for a frightfully fun evening at Safety Town Spooktacular on Wednesday, October 22nd from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.!
Bring your little ghosts and goblins for a safe and festive trick-or-treating experience throughout Safety Town and the mini buildings. Local organizations will be passing out candy and sharing important safety tips along the way!
It’s the perfect mix of fun and safety—all in one “spooktacular” night!
The Children's Safety Center & Safety Town is located at 777 Stratford Dr. E, Bourbonnais, next to The Grove Playground.

Intrinsic Arts - October 21st  @ 5:00pm
Our fire jam is a free monthly event to showcase local fire performance artists, musicians, and build community. This is a participatory event. Bring your poi, hoops, staffs, etc. Some practice props will be available for you to try.
Nestled between a park and downtown Manteno, the Square on Second provides us an ideal space to showcase the fire and flow arts. Be sure to check out some of the local businesses around the Square.
From 5-7 we'll be having music and an open flow jam.
Fire Safety Class will start around 7:00. All fire performers must attend the class. Fire performances start as soon as the class is done.
This is our last fire jam of the year. Halloween costumes are encouraged.

Sunrise will be hosting our second annual Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 19th from 12pm-3pm. This time around, we decided to spice it up a bit by turning the event into a donation drive
We are encouraging guests and trunks to bring a donation item(s) as an “entry fee”.
Please note that we are not encouraging blanket or towel donations at this time!
We had a FANTASTIC turnout last year and we are hoping for an even bigger turnout this year! So, save the date, pick out your costume and your donation item, and come see us on October 19th!

Mandalas With Watercolor Pencils, will be the art program for our next meeting on Tuesday, September 16. We meet at the Lisieux Pastoral Center in Kankakee, at 9:30am,starting with the Kankakee Art League's next meeting. Following that we gather our supplies, and Christine Michels will guide us to create a mandala of your choice, (or whatever else you choose!)using water soluble colored pencils and other media as you choose. Tips on using these pencils will be given along with some examples shown by Theresa Peterson.
